One of the questions I get asked a lot is when is the right time to hire a real estate virtual assistant. There is, of course, no right or wrong answer, but here are a few things I tell people when I am speaking with them. These are the top 5 signs that show you are truly ready for assistance.
1. You are incapable of growing because you don’t have enough time to work with more clients.
We all have a threshold of what we can handle in our work day and what is just too much. There truly are only so many hours in a day and if your day is taking you from early morning to late at night, it’s time to get some help. Not only will it lighten your workload, but your kids will start calling you mom or dad again.
2. Your workday ends at any o’clock.
If you are working in excess of 10 hours per day, it’s too many hours. You have to take down time in order to be effective in what you are doing. Anything over 10 hours a day, 7 days a week is simply too much. Need convinced? Figure out how much you are earning per month and divide that by the hours you are working. Are you making what you thought you were making or is your hourly rate more like that of a fast food worker? If that is your current scenario, get help now. I promise it’s not too late.
3. You have no time to market your business or your listings.
This spells trouble. If you aren’t marketing, your business can’t grow. If you aren’t marketing your listings, you are going to have some very unhappy clients. You need to get someone to assist you with this so that these things get done, and you need to get help fast.
4. You have lost track of what is going on with your closings.
This is dangerous. If you aren’t tracking your closings, meaning communicating with lender, title, and clients then it’s not closing. Not unless you are under some kind of rare star I have never found. Even when lenders are followed up with delays can still happen, but it’s not as stressful to your client if they know you are on top of it.
5. You are living a feast or famine cycle in your business.
Ever notice how you have a lot of income one month and none for the next month or two after? That’s because you are not able to go out and do the work that generated that income. If you are spending all day doing administrative tasks instead of lead generation and working with clients then this will be a recurring theme in your business. Always remember that what you do now will pay off in your business 60-90 days out. Feast and famine is a sure sign you need to hire a real estate virtual assistant right away so that you can continue to generate income.
